Backstage, Backroads, and In-Between

I'm Ron. After 40 years on the road and a lifetime around music, lights, and miles of highway, I've finally slowed down-just enough to share what I've seen along the way. A View from My Office is where backstage moments, open roads, and quiet vacation views come together through my lens. Most of my photography lives where the spotlight doesn't-behind the scenes at concerts, along America's highways, and in the still moments you only notice when you stop moving.

The Story Around the Stage

Having hauled sound and lighting for bands over the years, I was granted rare access to the places fans never see. My images focus less on performers and more on the stories unfolding around them-crew life, quiet pauses, candid details, and the atmosphere that makes live music come alive. This is concert photography without the stage front and center.

Miles Turned Into Moments

With decades spent driving across 48 states and Canada, the road itself became part of my creative process. Some photos were taken from rest stops, some from scenic detours, and yes-some while rolling down the highway at 70 miles an hour. Add in travels and vacation destinations, and you'll find a collection shaped by motion, curiosity, and timing.

The Art of Paying Attention

I'm an amateur photographer by title but a lifelong observer by nature. Most of my work is captured on a cell phone-proof that meaningful images aren't about gear, but about being present when a moment appears. Color or black and white, planned or unexpected-each photograph tells its own story.
